Advanced Training Program on Aerospace Prepreg Composites

The aerospace and advanced composites sector is witnessing rapid growth, driven by increasing demand for lightweight, high-performance, and certifiable structures. This evolution requires a workforce skilled in precision-driven prepreg manufacturing processes, aligned with global quality standards.

A significant gap exists between academic learning / basic shop-floor exposure and the rigorous requirements of aerospace-grade production — particularly in cleanroom operations, prepreg material handling, precision layup, autoclave curing, and AS9100-aligned quality systems.

This 3-day intensive program bridges that gap through practical, industry-aligned training conducted in a controlled workshop environment that simulates real production conditions.

  • Engineering Students (Diploma / BE / B.Tech)
  • Working Professionals in aerospace or composites manufacturing
  • Entrepreneurs / Business Owners in the composites space
  • Technical Trainers / Faculty Members
  • Instructor-led sessions combining conceptual clarity with process discipline
  • Hands-on practical modules in a controlled workshop environment simulating real production conditions
  • Tool preparation and prepreg cutting exercises
  • Precision layup, vacuum bagging, and leak testing practicals
  • Prepreg curing with live process observation
  • Manual documentation and traceability exercises aligned with AS9100 practices
  • Industry case studies and discussion-based learning with expert trainers
  • Basic understanding of composite materials (wet layup exposure preferred)
  • ITI / Diploma / Engineering Degree, or
  • Relevant industry experience in manufacturing environments
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
  • Understand aerospace prepreg material systems and apply scientific selection criteria
  • Apply cleanroom discipline and environmental control standards in production settings
  • Manage prepreg shelf-life, out-life, and thawing protocols correctly
  • Manage prepreg shelf-life, out-life, and thawing protocols correctly
  • Perform vacuum bagging, leak testing, and vacuum integrity validation
  • Understand autoclave curing cycles, ramp rates, and process control parameters
  • Identify common defects (voids, delamination, resin-rich/lean zones) and apply root cause prevention
  • Implement process documentation and traceability systems aligned with AS9100 standards
  • Produce consistent, repeatable, and certifiable composite structures

Certification

Participants will receive an LICT Certificate of Participation upon successful completion.
